Rod brings a wealth of crop protection experience to Agrisource. He began his career in 1972 with Turners & Growers Ltd, Pukekohe working in the crop protection and fertiliser division. In 1985 Rod established, and subsequently managed the standalone company Turners Horticultural Supplies Ltd, a national rural retailer of crop protection and fertiliser inputs.

 

By 1988 Rod, in partnership with Garry Elliott created horticultural retailer Pukekohe Growers Supplies Ltd. Both Rod and Garry are directors of this business today, trading under its new name of Inta-Ag Ltd. As a rural retailer, Inta-Ag delivers agronomy services for the vegetable production sector.

Two years later they established Elliott Chemicals Ltd, later renamed Etec Crop Solutions Ltd, to develop crop protection solutions for New Zealand agriculture. Initially with a strong emphasis towards the vegetable sector, Etec went on to become a significant supplier of crop protection products in New Zealand introducing approximately 160 products over its lifetime . In 2017 Etec was sold to Arysta LifeScience (USA). 

 

Rod holds numerous Directorships, including that of Agrisource (2000) Ltd.
